Product Review: Dr. Scholl’s Blister Defense Anti-Friction Stick

blister defense

This post is definitely on the other end of my usual posts but I felt it was extremely necessary to advertise this amazing product.

I’ve been trying to break in my Sperry Angelfish Top-Siders for quite some time now and every single time I try to break them in by walking around the house, I can’t do it for more than 30 minutes. I get the worst blisters on my heels and am in so much pain that I just give up and say I’ll try another day. I love these shoes though. Aside from the painful blisters, they’re very comfortable and would be perfect for everyday wear.

Well, giving that I’m heading to Seattle & Vancouver this week, I really wanted to have some nice walking shoes and also, they’re waterproof — seeing that Seattle/Vancouver are known for rainy days. I really wanted to wear my Sperry’s but I knew there was no way I could do that unless I broke them in. Again, I started yesterday afternoon trying to break them in but blisters were starting to form so I stopped. This afternoon, as I was packing, I slipped them on and the same thing happened.

A friend told me that she uses Dr. Scholl’s Moleskin Pads so I decided to go to CVS and pick some up. However, next to the pads I saw the Blister Defense Stick. I’m a huge skeptic with things like this. I just don’t get how they’d work. I did a quick Google search while in CVS and read reviews and they were surprisingly 5 out of 5 stars. Threw my skepticism out the window & I bought both the stick and the pads. Dr. Scholl’s has a guarantee that if it doesn’t work for you, you can send them your original receipt and UPC code & they’ll refund you. That’s enough to get me to try it.

I came home, applied the stick on my heels and put on my Sperry’s. Um, can we say most amazing product, ever?! Seriously, been walking around the house with my Sperry’s on with ZERO pain and NO blisters have formed. I’m still baffled at this but still so happy I found a product that has great results. It’s definitely not a scam! And I LOVE that!

Too bad it comes in such a small stick/amount. Although, I will be purchasing a 4-pack from Amazon when I get back from my trip.

I just wanted to share this with everyone that I know that has been suffering from the pains of breaking in shoes! Give this product a try. I vouch whole-heartedly for this!

Julie, I had the same problem with my Sperry’s that I bought a long time ago and I never wore them because of that same reason. Now maybe there is a solution. Thanks for sharing.

It’s a great product! Also, the moleskin pads are a lifesaver!! I’d use one or the other. If you find that you don’t want to carry around the blister defense and reapply every now and then, I’d use the moleskin pads :) I think the blister defense stick is more for short-term wear use and moleskin pads are for long-term walking (like shopping or vacation tourism! haha)
