I’ve got the itch..

..to do some cooking! Unfortunately, I’ll only have 2 chances this week to cook :( Hmm, although now thinking about this, I think I can try to squeeze something in on Saturday and Sunday. So hopefully I’ll have 4 new recipes up by the end of the week!

In other fantastically fun news: I just bought a 19 piece set of measuring cups and spoons. Yes, 19 pieces. The spoon set has a 1/32 tsp. Haha, can you believe that? I bet it’s so tiny and pointless, but that just goes to show what an awesome set this is. It includes a 3/4 cup measuring cup (I ALWAYS find myself needing this) and 2-cup measuring cup too! I can’t wait to get it. Amazon Prime rocks, by the way. I highly suggest forking out the $79 annual membership fee. It’s so worth it and the amount I order from Amazon, it definitely pays for itself especially with the free 2-day shipping on every order.

Anyway, I digress..having an additional set of measuring cups and spoons is a MUST because you can never have too many of those! Seriously, you can’t. I’m always finding myself measuring out ingredients and then it’s such a drab when you realize you have to wash a certain size cup or spoon just to reuse it. Or, even worse, when I was making the chocolate peanut butter surprise cookies, I had to keep rewashing the 1/4 cup, and more than half the time it had peanut butter in it. It was such a pain!

Well, what a fun little rant on what I use in the kitchen. I’m thinking about publishing a word or excel document on “Pantry Must-Haves” and “Cooking/Baking Must-Haves” to help some of you out on what you should always have stock of & what tools to have to help you along. Sound like a good idea? I think so! I know I needed that help when I first started cooking. I always found myself needing certain pantry items and spices. This can be your little cheat sheet and help you avoid the pains I went through, very similar to: “damnit, I don’t have that spice..now I have to run to the store!” or “aw man, does this recipe really call for celery??”
