Let’s be honest here. How cute is our drink dispenser? I know y’all are jealous. We seem so pretentious, I’m sure, with that monogrammed ish going on but I love that it’s so personalized. We got it as a housewarming gift from Jason’s brother & sister-in-law and never had a chance to really use it until now. Sure, I “tested” it by filling it up with water and seeing if the spout would work but I never put an actual drink in it til this past weekend when we threw a housewarming party.
First, can I give some party 101 etiquette in case you might’ve forgotten your manners – I highly doubt you have since we’re all very classy people here, but just in case, I want to throw some pointers out there so you don’t give the host of a party some kind of aneurysm.
If you’re invited to a party, you need to RSVP! How does the host know how much food to make if s/he doesn’t know how many are actually coming? If you need to cancel last minute, fine, but an hour before the event? That’s crappy. Unless you got some kinda flat tire or serious emergency, I’m not going to buy it. “We decided to go out of town last minute” is complete crap to me. Even if you did decide to go out of town last minute, I’m sure more than an hour’s notice was possible.
Yeah, I sound like a bitch right now and a tad bit bitter but when you spend $300 on food & drinks for a housewarming party that you’ve been planning out the menu for for a month, it kinda sucks when you have to scrap the entire menu a few hours before because you find out like 3948573498 people decided to be poop-heads and not come.
ANYWAY! What makes it all better is having a nice refreshing drink out of your awesome monogrammed drink dispenser.
I might’ve made this drink WAY too strong. I didn’t test it before serving it to people, but everyone seemed to like it a lot and didn’t think it was strong (or was it cause they were seriously already drunk from that first sip?). The peach is a nice subtle flavor and the peach slices are awesome to have afterwards as a boozy treat ;)
Sparkling Peach Sangria
Yield: 15-18 drinks | Prep Time: 4 hours | Cook Time: N/A
6-8 peaches, sliced
2 bottles of Riesling
1 bottle of Prosecco or sparkling wine
1/2 bottle of peach vodka (I used Smirnoff)
- Put everything except the prosecco/sparkling wine in a drink dispenser 4 hours prior to party and keep in the fridge until time to serve.
- Prior to serving, pour in the prosecco or sparkling wine, stir with wooden spoon and serve.
