Loving Lately…

1. I want new boots. Like I do every season. It’s a disgusting habit but shoe companies just LOVE coming out with new & cute styles so my wallet obviously wants to empty itself out. The pair on the left is a Frye boot and the one on the right (which I’m DYING to get) is from Kork-Ease but they don’t have them in stock this year, yet.

2. Stella & Dot. I want to do some serious damage with them, but I have to refrain for just a bit. Grey pearls. Pink/gold pearls. Cute dot flower dot studs (which I actually have these. I got them as a Christmas gift from Jason’s cousin last year. So cute!)

3. Clockwise: This kind of looks like a shorter version of my wedding dress. Gasp! Hint hint. Not really, but it has similar qualities. Who doesn’t love that peplum waist with stripes? I die. The skirt with the bow and ruffles – how cute would that be with a white blouse and a cardigan? I wish I could find the skirt in real life because it’d be snatched up so quickly. And the last outfit – I just love the color combination of brown and pink. Oh, and of course, stripes!

What fall fashions are you excited about?

Does anyone watch The Voice? I’m so excited over the new season and 3 evenings of 2 hours episodes!

What do we think about this whole Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively marriage?

This song is so catchy.

Also, I can’t believe it’s the 11th anniversary of 9/11. I remember that day so vividly. I was in my 7th grade geometry class. Where were you?

Blog is the New Black - September 11, 2012 - 7:26 AM

Elizabeth@ Food Ramblings - September 11, 2012 - 8:23 AM

Shica - September 11, 2012 - 9:03 AM

OMG I’m in love with that dress and skirt…can you provide the links for those pieces pretty please????

Angela @ AnotherBitePlease - September 11, 2012 - 9:15 AM

Lovin’ those boots too.
9/11 so sad…by chance I was actually sitting in my living waching the news :-(

Julie - September 11, 2012 - 9:29 AM

Hi Shica, I provide links for the items if I can find the links for them and unfortunately, I don’t know where the dress and skirt come from :(

shelly (cookies and cups) - September 11, 2012 - 9:31 AM

Those boots. The end.

Rachel @ Baked by Rachel - September 11, 2012 - 9:43 AM

7th GRADE?!?! God you’re making me feel so old…

I love those wedge boots and that pencil skirt is way cute.

Stephanie - September 11, 2012 - 10:18 AM

1. Loving both boots. I just shop at DSW to lessen the blow.
3. I so excited for your wedding! How is the planning going? Tempted to make that ruffle skirt myself.

Nail polish! I love all the autumn colors that lead to winter colors.

Ughhhhh to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. He’s going younger and younger.

Um, 7th grade?!

I was driving to my morning class at college, listening to Howard Stern, thinking he was playing a prank on the radio. Something like that couldn’t happen in my mind, it didn’t register. Got to college and all the streets were clear. It was surreal. Called home (on a payphone since I didn’t own a cell phone yet, how far we’ve come) wondering what was going on and my mom told me to come home immediately because she couldn’t reach my dad (who worked in the city). I raced home (at a reasonable speed of course). Needless to say, the rest of the day was spent making sure everyone (my dad and relatives) were alright. My relatives were okay, but I did lose loved ones that day. Family member friends that I grew up with. I. Will. Never. Ever. Forget.

amy @ fearless homemaker - September 11, 2012 - 10:31 AM

I’m obsessed with riding boots + wear them all fall/winter long. love the kork-ease ones you posted because of the wedge heel – i have a similar pair that I adore!

Gina @ Running to the Kitchen - September 11, 2012 - 10:33 AM

Those boots! I die. My sole mission on this trip to Italy (besides eating my weight in gelato) is to come home with a pair (or 3) of boots. A girl can never have too many.
And 7th grade?! I was a sophomore in college in Econ 201 with Prof. Koont who assured us it was just a tiny prop plane that had struck the building and that class would not end early. I can remember every single detail of that entire day so vividly.

Julie - September 11, 2012 - 10:37 AM

Aw thanks for sharing this, Stephanie! We’ll never forget either. I’m so sorry for your loss :( xoxo

Julie - September 11, 2012 - 10:38 AM

I NEED to find boots with the wedge heel this fall. I’m going to scour the websites :)

claire @ the realistic nutritionist - September 11, 2012 - 11:06 AM

Love that skirt. Want to wear it immediately.

Hayley @ The Domestic Rebel - September 11, 2012 - 11:35 AM

My peplum obsession has increasingly grown from one dress to about six different dresses, two shirts, and a skirt, and I’m itching to buy more. Can’t. Get. Enough! Also, I desperately need to order some pieces from Stella & Dot because I see SO many cute things I need. ‘Need’ being the operative word :)

Jamie @ Thrifty Veggie Mama - September 11, 2012 - 11:48 AM

Loving the boots! I definitely want a pair this fall.

7th grade?! I feel old now! I was starting my junior year of college!!! I was in physical therapy school and my roommate and I had just finished a Gross Anatomy lab exam. We came back home and turned on the TV and that was the news that we saw.

carrian - September 11, 2012 - 12:41 PM

First, I need that right side of the screen dress with the stripes. MUST Find it. Second, what the crap?! They got married?!!!
And 9/11. I now understand those who went through Pearl Harbor. You never forget. I was on my way to school.

Katie @ Blonde Ambition - September 11, 2012 - 12:54 PM

Love love love those boots! I can never justify spending as much money as cute longer boots cost, so I only have short ones! Plus, no need for long boots in Cali “winter” :P Plussss, my boyfriend is only about 2-3 inches taller than me so I can’t wear too high of heels :(

I remember 9/11 very vividly- I never wake up early, but that morning I happened to wake up early enough that when I got out of the shower, my mom (who’s from NY) turned on the news and we saw the first tower fall :( And I’m pretty sure I was in 8th grade when it happened, but I think you and I are the same age…so now I’m confused! Lol!

Joy - September 11, 2012 - 1:15 PM

I was in 8th grade Bible class – our teacher had just announced that a building in NYC had been bombed. Next period one of my friends told me that it was done by the KKK. I later found out from my dad that it was done by a terrorist group. I didn’t really understand how big of a deal it was until I went home and watched it on TV.

Julie - September 11, 2012 - 1:17 PM

Haha, then maybe it was 8th grade for me too. I can’t remember. I thought it was 7th but you might be right that it was 8th.

Chung-Ah | Damn Delicious - September 11, 2012 - 2:15 PM

I was in my 8th grade history class and we had to write about how we felt about the whole thing in our notebooks. I still can’t believe it’s been 11 years!

Kelli @ The Corner Kitchen - September 11, 2012 - 2:26 PM

I keep going back & forth on splurging on a pair of Fryes….I think this post may have just pushed me over the edge :)

Julie - September 11, 2012 - 2:37 PM

Oops! I hope your bank account doesn’t hate me ;)

Jackie @ The Beeroness - September 11, 2012 - 2:42 PM

Let’s go shopping together because I love all of this. I have this crazy obsession with Frye boots, I just got a pair of vintage Frye boots and spent almost $200 having them cleaned, repaired and a zipper installed. Love them.

Back For Seconds - September 11, 2012 - 3:05 PM

LOVE your style, girl! We are totally wanting the same things right now. I am obsessed with boots- they are my favorite thing about fall :)

Erin @ Texanerin Baking - September 11, 2012 - 3:14 PM

You like really cute stuff! I need someone like you in my life. I wear the same basic stuff every day, but in different colors. Lame!

And I was in 11th grade. Foundations of Physical Education or something ridiculous. We were sitting in a classroom looking at a textbook. My next class was German and the mean old Austrian in there didn’t believe us and wouldn’t let us turn on the TV. Can’t believe it’s been so long. And that I’m so old.

Alaina @ Fabtastic Eats - September 11, 2012 - 3:41 PM

oh my!! I LOVE those boots! YES PLEASE!!

I LOVE shopping for new boots for fall/winter! I haven’t started yet, but I think you may have just lit the fire ;) I think I’m going to go for a cute brown pair this year!

Stephanie @ Eat. Drink. Love. - September 11, 2012 - 10:23 PM

I love everything you posted here!! I am watching the Voice also. It’s the only “singing” show I watch!

And as for Blake and Ryan…I worry that he might have like 5 marriages under his belt by the time he hits 60.

Baking Serendipity - September 13, 2012 - 9:48 PM

As always, I love all these things! It’s definitely time I dig my brown boots out of the box they’re packed in and start dressing like it’s fall!
