Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Last month, I got the opportunity to hop on a cruise ship with Princess Cruises and sail to the Mexican Riviera. I had never been to Mexico before and I have always wanted to go to the Mexican Riviera.

Truth be told, the real reason why I jumped at this opportunity was because I was 1. going to be with my blogging besties and 2. because Cabo San Lucas was on the port list. I have been dreaming of going to Cabo San Lucas ever since college. All because of that darn show, Laguna Beach and The Hills.

However, I had no idea that I would absolutely fall head over heels in love with Puerto Vallarta, Mexico the moment we docked. I never would have dreamed that I would love it as much as I did and do. Puerto Vallarta really took me by surprise.

This is a post sponsored by Princess Cruises. All opinions are 100% my own.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was absolutely gorgeous. The cobblestone-lined streets, the old architecture, and the friendly smiles from locals. Everything about this city was inspirational. I honestly felt like I was in a European country while here.

I must say that if you do come to Puerto Vallarta, you definitely should charter your own taxi and make sure he takes you to the local spots. Don’t do the touristy stuff because you won’t be able to get the true feel of the city. We were lucky that our taxi driver knew how much we loved food and was willing to take us to seek it!

Seriously, the food was incredible. And so were the drinks. I mean, authentic margaritas? Sign me up!

We also swam with sea lions as one of the excursions we chose to do with Princess Cruises. I really do like doing excursions with the cruise line because the process is so streamlined and you don’t have to worry about anything. You literally just show up.

And you know how I felt about the Mexican street churros. It was the inspiration for my homemade Mexican churros post!
