Did you guys see the creamy Swedish meatball pasta bake yesterday?! Oh my gosh. Dinner for you this week!!

    1. We’re using this Lend-A-Box service for moving and I 100% recommend it. There are similar “rent a box/crate” type services all over the United States so look for one in your area. They deliver the plastic bins to your front door and then when you’re done unpacking at your new house, they pick them up! It’s SO convenient and it kind of forces you to unpack quicker because you have a deadline. You can pick how many boxes you need/want, the size, and the length of the rental. They’re heavy-duty and you don’t have to worry about them getting wet (rainy moving day), spilling stuff in them (it won’t soak in like cardboard does), or getting damaged/ripped. The best part? You don’t have to build cardboard boxes (omg that tape sound seriously irks me) and you don’t have to break any cardboard boxes down. Not to mention, movers probably love the uniform box shapes. It makes moving so much faster!
    2. What do you think of this United Airlines uproar? I think the clickbait headlines and the backlash against United Airlines is stupid. For one, people need to READ the full article and realize WHY United Airlines did what they did and second, it’s a policy, a dress code. If your workplace has a dress code policy of suit and tie and you show up in sweatpants, you’d get reprimanded. So, how is this any different? If the girls were too young to understand/read; their parents certainly could’ve.
    3. Had a strong craving for boxed brownies this weekend. These are the best!
    4. This is my favorite time of year for those dark chocolate mini cadbury eggs EXCEPT I haven’t been able to find the dark chocolate ones anywhere. Readers have told me at Target but my Target didn’t have them. Another friend told me this local grocery store but I haven’t had a chance to stop in. I am going to hunt them down and stock up because they’re the BEST!
    5. We finished watching the three seasons of The Great British Baking Show on Netflix and I went on the hunt for the other four seasons. They’re on Amazon Video but SO expensive. It’s like $30 a season!! I hope Netflix has more soon…we miss it so much already!
    6. I have a date with The Container Store next Wednesday and I am SO excited. I’m going to try to contain (ha) myself but I’m going to want all the things for the new house! PS – any pantry organization ideas? I’m thinking I’m going to go all glass and buying Mason jars to store dried goods!

I had no idea you could rent those crates for a personal move. I’ve always just seen them for office moves but it makes total sense.

Luckily The Container Store closest to me is a pain in the butt to get to otherwise I’d be there every weekend. Of course that doesn’t stop me from shopping online but I can at least control myself that way. Something about being in the store makes me want to give them all my money.

    • Julie says:

Haha, being in the store is like, “do I need this? no..well wait, I COULD put this and this in this…actually yes, let’s buy three.”

  • Rebecca says:

Where did you find the other four seasons of the Great British Baking Show??? The episodes that I found on Amazon are the same ones on Netflix.

    • Julie says:

I went on the UK Amazon haha :)

To comment on the United situation, my dad used to work for a company where one of the perks was that he could get airline employee passes. We used them for a couple of vacations and business casual dress was one of the rules/restrictions. If they were regular passengers, I could understand the uproar but in this case, I totally understand why the gate agent made that decision.

    • Julie says:

It was such a non-story and people are making it a bigger deal than it really was. It’s a dress code!

First of all, I agree with you 100% about the United (non)story. I cannot even believe that people are upset about it.
As for pantry organization, we just expanded our pantry and I’m so happy with the new organization in there! I highly recommend investing in some lazy susans with edges. We used them to organize our canned goods and also our spices in the cabinets near our stove. We also bought several woven plastic baskets of varying sizes to contain similar type items (one for chips, one for cooking oils, one for pasta, etc) and they have helped to keep things well-organized and easy to find .
Good luck on your move and may your new home bring you and your husband a lifetime of joy and beautiful memories!
