I’m always on the lookout for “the best” facial moisturizer or “the best” eye cream or “the best” anti-aging routine. Little did I know, I had the golden ticket right under my nose.
Frankincense essential oil is a valuable ingredient in many skin care products out there these days. It has been shown that this oil alone can slow signs of aging on the skin. It promotes regeneration of healthy cells and also keeps the existing cells and tissues healthy. It can help you to eliminate sun spots, remove micro-wrinkles around the eyes and cheeks, and generally tone and tighten skin all over your body, while simultaneously replacing old or dying cells with new, healthy ones!
I’ll be honest, I didn’t use this oil from my PSK when I first got it. In fact, it took me a couple months to even find a use for it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the smell but now I can tolerate it. It smells sweet and balsamic to me but it also has a vinegar-y scent to it. That’s just me.
Anyway, a friend of mine shared that she started using grapeseed oil and frankincense in her nightly routine and mentioned that her skin looks fab. I was intrigued so I made my own little serum bottle and have been using this for combination for over a month and I’m happy to report that my skin looks AMAZING. I also love this little 1 oz. glass bottle because one pump of it administers the perfect amount for my face.
So after using this for a month, I’ve noticed the following (keep in mind, this is my own personal experience and everyone’s skin reacts is differently so results will vary):
- Tighter and firmer skin
- Dewy glow
- Smoother complexion
- My freckles are getting lighter
I’m excited with the results and I love that my face is so smooth and dewy lately. I only use this at night because it is too oily to use for the day. I guess you could use this during the day and just use half the amount but I haven’t tried that yet. I might, but I’m still thrilled with the results from just my nightly usage.
To make this awesome DIY all-natural facial serum yourself, you’ll need:
- 1-ounce amber glass bottle with pump
- A little under 1 ounce of grapeseed oil*
- 30 drops of Frankincense essential oil
I just filled up the glass bottle with a little under 1-ounce of grapeseed oil, just up to the bottleneck, and then added the frankincense drops! Easy peasy! Before using it, I shake it up to distribute the oils and then do one pump into the palm of my hand and use my fingers to apply it to my face. I like to massage it in all over and I also focus on my forehead and the sides of my eyes cause I’m afraid of crows feet! Haha
*Skin sensitivities may occur. Grapeseed oil is a very light oil so it should work well with most skin types. Coconut oil can clog pores and cause breakouts so I’d avoid that. You could also try almond oil, jojoba oil, and/or argan oil.
*You can also use Elemi essential oil as a great alternative if Frankincense or Sacred Frankincense is out of stock. They all have the same wonderful benefits as Frankincense as they’re all apart of the same family!
