You know what movie is completely underrated and not watched nearly enough? Chef.

EVERYTHING about the movie is amazing. It’s one of those movies I can watch over and over and over again. In fact, I actually do watch it a lot. Thankful for Netflix because I watch it at least once a week.

Pasta aglio e olio is a classic Italian pasta dish that has the simplest ingredients but full of big flavor. Incredibly easy to throw together any night of the week when you're craving some light pasta!

I love the soundtrack, I love the storyline, I love all the cooking, the FOOD, and I just love that it’s a very natural and real story. It’s not overly stuffy and it has good humor in it. There are some great actors and actresses in it but at the end of the day, the whole theme of family really brings it all together. Ahh, I want to go watch it again right now. Have you seen it before??

If you’ve seen the movie, you’ll know the exact scene I’m talking about. Chef Carl Casper is in his apartment with his…girlfriend? Hookup? Haha, not sure what to call her (Scarlett Johansson) in this movie. All you know is that it’s the elusive, “we’re sleeping together but we won’t explicitly say it.” Anyway, so he’s making her this incredible pasta dish after one of his shifts. It’s one of the simplest pastas but the way he makes it and the way it’s filmed just makes you uncontrollably drool.

The frying of the garlic and red pepper flakes and then the al dente pasta being tossed into the olive oil. Oh my gosh. And then the way he plates it. Goodness, I know that scene all too well.

Obviously this pasta dish is an exact recreation from the movie. I knew I had to make it one day and see if it tasted as amazing as it looked.

Verdict: it was a winner. Now I’m off to watch the movie again…for the 340th time. :)
