Paleo Challenge: Day 13

  • From May 11 – June 10, I’m doing a paleo challenge with Gina. I decided to journal this as something to look back on and also for others to follow along and to use as reference in case they want to take on this challenge in the future. I’ll link to recipes (either mine that I developed on this journey or other people’s) when applicable, but I don’t usually cook from recipes for myself so if you leave a comment asking for the recipe for something, there is none unless otherwise noted. My purpose of doing this isn’t to lose weight. It’s changing up my eating habits to see how it works for my body. I’m not a health professional so I cannot offer you any advice. There are numerous resources out there for paleo. Do your research before committing.

    May 23: Day 13

    Notes: we went to a wedding this morning so the day-trip to and from involved a lot of eating out and challenging meals

    Breakfast: omelette with ground beef tenderloin, peppers, onions, tomatoes and a side of bacon (the original omelette on the menu came with roasted potatoes and cheese but I told them to take it out!), a large coffee with almond milk

    Lunch: chipotle chicken salad

    Dinner: typical wedding fare but i stuck to shrimp and lobster with veggies :)

    Snacks: almonds, paleo beef jerky, cashew butter, carrots

    Drinks: H2O

    Exercise: walked quite a bit around town

    Thoughts: there was a gelato bar at the dinner. omg you guys. i wanted to cheat so bad. but i knew i’d be pissed at myself for doing that tomorrow morning so i didn’t. sniff sniff.

    You are an inspiration! I’ve tried doing paleo multiple times but have failed each time on day 2 or 3. Thanks for posting, and good job on not getting that gelato!
