Paleo Challenge: Day 22

  • From May 11 – June 10, I’m doing a paleo challenge with Gina. I decided to journal this as something to look back on and also for others to follow along and to use as reference in case they want to take on this challenge in the future. I’ll link to recipes (either mine that I developed on this journey or other people’s) when applicable, but I don’t usually cook from recipes for myself so if you leave a comment asking for the recipe for something, there is none unless otherwise noted. My purpose of doing this isn’t to lose weight. It’s changing up my eating habits to see how it works for my body. I’m not a health professional so I cannot offer you any advice. There are numerous resources out there for paleo. Do your research before committing.

    June 1: Day 22

    Notes: all i can think about is how sore my entire body is

    Breakfast: leftover flank steak and egg scramble, cup of black coffee with a splash of cashew milk

    Lunch: boring salad from chop’t cause i forgot to bring lunch – oops!

    Dinner: chicken and chorizo chimichurri w/roasted zucchini and parsnips

    Snacks: grapes, single-serving wholly guacamole cup

    Drinks: H2O

    Exercise: i don’t think i’ll be able to workout for like 4 days at this point

    Thoughts: you guys. [solidcore] is seriously no effing joke. they advertise it as the ‘most intense workout you’ll ever do in your entire life’ and i thought i was pretty fit from barre and cycling. umm i practically was lying down all class and yet, the things i was able to do, has made every muscle fiber in my entire body sore. i’m like not joking or exaggerating. i could barely sleep last night because every time i moved, it was painful. it hurts to sit (my glutes hate me), it hurts to walk, it hurts to lift my arms, it hurts to laugh, it hurts to do anything. i love being sore from workouts and i usually love this, but this? this is brutal, lol – i also got an email today from them today and in the email, they’re like, “if you took the regular class and found it a tad too much – we also have beginner classes that focuses heavily on form and technique. They are listed as [solidcore] 101 on the schedule.” – WELL, i probably should’ve taken that one first, LOL. I like literally hopped into a regular class. prrrroobably shouldn’t have done that ;)
