Jump to Recipe | Save RecipeOkay, let’s be honest: the reason why we all celebrate Cinco de Mayo is cause we like to drink, right? Or are we really celebrating the Mexican army’s victory over France in 1862? Or is it because any holiday is fun to celebrate? I’m going to say all of the above. Also, did you see my little history I just casually put in there?
So many questions! I have one more.
WHAT ARE YOU EATING AND DRINKING TODAY?!
The caps are so obnoxiously necessary.
I’m personally a margarita on the rocks (extra salty rim, please) kind of girl but tequila and I don’t really have a good friendship. There was this one time I went to a club (in my younger days) and had four shots of tequila and got really sick later that night and won’t ever forget it. I’m surprised I even remember much of that night. Four shots is equivalent to like death to me. Seriously. I am such a light weight.
Apparently I didn’t care when I was in college. Oh, and speaking of college. You know how on the Facebook app they have the “on this day” little tab you can click on? And it shows you all the posts you made on the same day years ago? It seems to me that 6 years ago I drank heavily.
Like, my statuses were, “drunk bus was officially a success. i was told i fell asleep on a patio” and also, “resting up for a day of debauchery tomorrow. can’t wait to drink my face off.” WHAT THE HECK WAS WRONG WITH ME?!
I mean, I guess I was living it up as a young, post-college girl, but man, it’s kind of embarrassing reading those statuses. It’s like I was a completely different person. I can turn away happy hours and drinks like a pro these days.
Cheers to getting old? No, cheers to being a responsible adult. #adulting
After all that talk of alcohol, I’m sad to say that this pom-pineapple passion fizz does NOT have alcohol. HOWEVER, you can easily add some rum to this. Omg, can I tell another story real quick? Pineapple + Malibu was my drink of choice for yearssssss during and post-college. Then I just got sick of the taste and now I can’t have it again.
Maybe it is called Cinco de Drinko for a reason….
Kidding :)
