What is Crack Pie?

This copycat Milk Bar pie features an oatmeal cookie crust and a creamy, salty, sweet, and gooey filling, making this recipe truly addictive!

Simple Ingredients

Make the Dough

Mix butter, sugars, egg, vanilla, rolled oats, flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda until light and fluffy.

Bake the Dough

Spread the cookie dough onto the baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes.

Let It Cool

Let it cool on a wire rack while you prepare the filling.

Make the Filling

Combine the sugars, milk powder, and salt in your stand mixer.

Add Melted Butter

Add the melted butter, stopping and scraping as needed.

Add the Egg Yolks

Add in the heavy cream, vanilla, and egg yolks. Mix until glossy.

Make the Crust

Break up the cookie into pieces and add to a food processor.

Add the Butter

Add the melted butter and blend until crumbly.

Press Into Pie Dish

Press the crust mixture into your pie dish.


Pour the filling into the pie dish and bake  for 30 minutes.

Let It Cool

Allow the pie to cool to room temperature before placing it in the freezer.


Before serving, move the pie to the fridge. Then, dust with powdered sugar and dig in.
