Easy Chicken Marsala


What is Chicken Marsala?

This easy recipe features tender, juicy chicken in a creamy sauce with just the right marsala flavor from the wine, and bites of perfectly sautéed mushrooms and onions.

Simple Ingredients

Prep the Chicken

Slice the breasts in half lengthwise and pound the pieces with a mallet to about ¼ inch thick.

Coat the Chicken

Whisk together the flour, salt, and pepper, and coat each piece of chicken with the mixture.

Cook the Chicken

Cook the chicken in a deep skillet with hot oil for 3-4 minutes on each side.

Remove the Chicken

Take the chicken pieces from the skillet and place them on a plate. Cover with tin foil.

Sauté the Mushrooms

Sauté the mushrooms and onions in melted butter for about 3 minutes.

Add Marsala Wine

Whisk in flour, garlic, Marsala wine, broth and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, then simmer.

Warm It Up

Return the chicken to the skillet and allow it to simmer for a few minutes to warm back up.


Serve over rice or pasta, and dig in.
