In a pitcher combine the wine, sugar, gin and sliced fruits. Refrigerate for 2 hours so the fruits can release their natural oils in the sangria.
When you are ready to serve it add the ice and soda.
Rub a slice of orange in the border of a glass and dip in sugar until all the borders evenly coated.
Pour the sangria into the glasses and serve.
Notes
You can use any flavored seltzer or soda you like. It’s delicious with san pellegrino grapefruit sparkling water too!If you don’t have enough time to “marinate” the sangria add ¼ cup orange juice and 2 Tbsp lemon juice to the sangria.
