In a pot, bring water to a simmer and melt sugar in it. Turn the heat down low and let thicken for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Gently throw in your fruit in the sugar mixture and let sit in the liquid for 10 minutes to break down and for the juices to release.
Add in the vodka, stir, and remove from heat.
Drain the liquid in a mesh sieve over a bowl so the mesh sieve will catch all the fruit pieces. Place the bowl with the liquid in a larger bowl with ice and place in freezer for 10 minutes.
The liquid should be cold enough in 10 minutes to put into a shaker with ice, shaken, and served.
