TikTok has struck again! This custard yogurt toast is easy to customize and makes the perfect breakfast or sweet treat! It’s crispy, chewy and sweet and tastes like a vanilla danish!
⅓cup(82g)yogurtI used vanilla but you can use your favorite flavor
1egg
1-2tablespoons(1tablespoons)maple syrupdepending on how sweet you want it
1teaspoonpure vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
2slicesbreadI used croissant bread, but you can use whichever you prefer
½cup(74g)blueberries
2-3(2-3)strawberriessliced
Instructions
Air Fryer instructions:
Preheat the air fryer to 400 °F (204 °C) for 5 minutes.
In the meantime, whisk the yogurt, egg, maple syrup, vanilla and salt together in a small bowl then set aside.
Press the middle of the bread down using a spoon or your fingers then pour the mixture evenly between the two bread slices but don’t overfill them.
Top with some blueberries or strawberry slices.
Place a sheet of parchment paper in the air fryer basket then place the bread in the basket carefully.
Cook in the air fryer for 9-10 minutes at 400 °F (204 °C) or until the center is set and the bread is crispy.
Oven instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 °F (204 °C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper then bake the bread for 12-15 minutes or until light and golden and set in the center.
Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup or honey and a dust of powdered sugar.
