This triple berry brioche French toast bake is a breakfast or brunch dish that your overnight crew will love! Fresh berries are layered throughout the rich and buttery brioche bread. Your family and friends will love you!
In a large measuring cup, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla bean paste, and orange zest.
Add half the berries on top of the brioche that's already in the casserole dish then add the remaining brioche cubes on top.
Carefully pour the milk/egg mixture all over the bread mixture, gently pressing down on the bread with the back of a wooden spoon as you pour.
If prepping ahead of time, now you would cover the dish with foil and place in the fridge overnight and bake in the morning following the directions below.
If making to serve immediately, preheat oven to 375 °F (191 °C) while you let the bread soak in the liquid for 30 minutes. Sprinkle granulated sugar lightly over the top of the bread mixture.
Bake for 1 hour or until mixture is warmed through and most liquid has cooked off.
Remove from oven and top with remaining berries and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
Place casserole dish on top of a baking sheet when pouring the milk/egg mixture on top in case you spill or it overflows. It's also easier to place into the oven if you have a baking sheet underneath. It can also catch overflow, if you experience any! No one likes scrubbing the oven :)
