Chocolate cherry sheet pan pancakes take the work out of the traditional pancake making. No more standing over the griddle individually flipping pancakes. These sheet pan pancakes are the new “it” breakfast for a crowd!

Oh sheet. Sheet pan pancakes, what?!
There are so many food trends lately that it’s hard to keep track of them. Some are kind of bonkers and some are just genius and really actually help “hack” the age-old question of how to feed a crowd easily. These chocolate cherry pancakes in sheet pan pancake form is the trend that is 100% worth trying.
Sheet pan pancakes are a genius way to make pancakes for a crowd with minimal effort. You can make the batter from scratch or use a pancake mix. Additionally, instead of standing over a griddle and flipping individual pancakes, you can socialize almost immediately after because all you do is pour the batter onto a large sheet pan and let the oven do the work.
The large surface area also allows for fun mix-ins like my sheet pan fruit pancake version or like this chocolate cherry pancake version. Also, because the pancake is baked, it stays moist and tender rather than drying out like individual pancakes can. The seamless, uniform shape makes sheet pan pancakes easy to slice and serve. It’s no wonder these hands-off, crowd-pleasing sheet pan pancakes have become a modern breakfast favorite!
How to Make Chocolate Cherry Pancakes
- Make the batter. Whisk the dry ingredients together in a large bowl, this includes all-purpose flour, sugar, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together egg, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until no clumps remain and all the flour is mixed in.
- Pour batter onto sheet pan. Pour the batter into a rimmed sheet pan prepared with parchment paper and greased with butter.
- Make the chocolate sauce. Gently whipping cream in the microwave or on the stovetop – just until it’s warmed through. Pour heavy whipping cream over dark chocolate chips, allow it to sit for a minute or two before stirring until smooth.
- Drizzle and swirl! Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the pancake mix and use a butter knife to create swirls in the batter. Sprinkle the cherries throughout.
- Bake. Bake the pancakes for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of the pancake.
- Divide and serve. Slice into squares and serve with your favorite breakfast or brunch items, such as Cheesy Hashbrown Casserole, Egg White Breakfast Casserole, or Breakfast Sliders.
Storage and Reheating Instructions
Allow leftovers to cool then wrap slices tightly in plastic wrap or place into an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm through in the microwave or toaster oven.
