Pizza rolls are a throwback to childhood as these were easily the classic after-school snack that most kids enjoyed in our generation. This pizza roll recipe takes it from a basic frozen pizza roll to something more mature in flavor that both kids and adults will love!

Another day, another TikTok viral recipe. This time, pizza rolls, which to be honest, are actually quite brilliant and in a sense, Totino’s way of relaunching.

Okay so, I’m not sure if kids in this generation were as obsessed with Totino’s pizza rolls as we were growing up. They were the iconic after-school snack that our parents would stash away in the freezer so we wouldn’t be ravenous after school or before they got home from work. I remember the commercials for these too. It was geared towards “doing it yourself” and how easy they were.

Well, fast forward to 2022 and Totino’s are all of a sudden trendy again — but like mature trendy. I don’t know if kids will actually want to eat pizza rolls this way but this garlic and cheese combination sounds like garlic bread on top of a pepperoni pizza and I’m 100% all for that. What kid wouldn’t be?!

What are pizza rolls?

It’s marketed as turning a pizza into a bite-sized pizza roll. Which truthfully, that’s exactly what it is! When I was growing up, they only had pepperoni flavor but now they have a bunch of different flavors — triple cheese, supreme, combination, pepperoni & bacon, triple meat, and even collabs like a buffalo chicken style.

Why You’ll Love These

If it’s TikTok viral, you know it has to be good. Okay, not really (lol, do we remember the NyQuil chicken?) but there are definitely some TikTok viral recipes that are really ingenious and I think these pizza rolls are on that list.

Homemade yet not. If anything, this goes to show that anything frozen or anything pre-made can be made a little fancier with some fresh ingredients. It’s kind of like that show by Sandra Lee, Semi-Homemade.

Easy and perfect party appetizer. These pizza rolls are so easy to make that making them a large batch as a party appetizer or snack for game day is so convenient!

Variations and Substitutions

The frozen pizza rolls come in a variety of flavors. Pick whichever you want and the recipe works just the same!

You may choose to add other toppings or seasonings to these pizza rolls. If you don’t like the fresh garlic, use garlic powder. If you prefer a smokey flavor, add some smoked paprika! If you want to make it spicy, use some garlic chili crisp oil!
