These Oreo cheesecake cookies are the ultimate cookie for those who love cookies and cream and cheesecake! It only takes 7 ingredients to make these tender, Oreo-encrusted cheesecake cookies.

I love Oreo’s (cookies and cream) and a classic plain cheesecake. Combining those two flavors into an Oreo cheesecake cookie is seriously a dream. The base of the cookie is essentially the cheesecake part — it’s the creaminess and tang of the cheesecake flavor. Then, on the outside, you get the cookies and cream flavor from the crushed Oreo’s along with melty chocolate chips throughout the cheesecake-based dough. Honestly, it’s truly one of the best (and easiest) cookies to make! If you’re a cookies and cream fanatic, you’re going to want to add this to your list.
Baking Tips
- Do NOT skip the chilling. This is unfortunately a must, but because the cookies are so fragile and don’t have egg in them, they need to set up in the refrigerator otherwise they’re just going to be an oily, goopy mess.
- Try not to handle the cookies too much with your hands after they’ve come out of the refrigerator. Use a gentle touch when rolling them in the cookie crumbs. The heat of your hands will start to melt the cookies and they’ll lose their shape.
- Do not use the top rack of your oven for this. These can burn fairly quickly due to the fat content so you’ll definitely want to use the middle rack.

What is the texture like?
Glad you asked because it seems like there are varying results on these Oreo cheesecake cookies. While I’ve done numerous tests, results will vary based on how you measure ingredients and your oven! These cookies and cream cheesecake cookies are extremely tender, soft, and ever-so slightly crispy on the edges. They’re fragile cookies because there is not much binding to hold them together, but trust they come together!
Storage Instructions
Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature.

While I love a good cookies and cream milkshake, I implore you to make my Oreo mug cake and crush these Oreo cheesecake cookies on top. Oh my goodness – the most epic cookies and cream treat on this planet! Of course, cookies and cream ice cream is a classic and a must as well.

Oreo Cheesecake Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup (160 g) crushed Oreo's, it took about roughly 10 Oreo cookies
- ½ cup (114 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3 ounces (85 g) cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125 g) flour
- ½ cup (90 g) mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 °F (177 °C) and line baking sheets with silicone baking mats or parchment paper.
- In a food processor, crush the Oreo cookies until they're fine crumbs. Set aside.1 cup (160 g) crushed Oreo's

- In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and cream cheese until smooth and well combined.1/2 cup (114 g) unsalted butter, 3 ounces (85 g) cream cheese

- Add the sugar and vanilla extract and beat until well incorporated.1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Gently mix in the flour and stir in the chocolate chips with a spatula. Let chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.1 cup (125 g) flour, 1/2 cup (90 g) mini chocolate chips

- Using a medium sized cookie scoop, scoop the dough and put it in your hands to roll it into a ball. Roll the ball in the Oreo crumbs and cover the dough well.

- Place on cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart, and repeat until all the dough has been used up.

- Bake for 12-15 minutes on the middle rack – do not do upper rack! (I had to bake mine for longer because my dough balls were slightly bigger so it took 20 minutes to bake).
- Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to cool completely on a wire rack.

Hi! Iam diabetic and I baked your cookies last week ahmm for me it’s too sweet. Can I just put 1/4cup or if it’s okay no sugar? Do I need to adjust the flour if I don’t put the sugar? please reply, thanks!
Made two bathes of these. The first was incredibly yummy and I got 20 balls. The second I divided the dough in half, then added white choc mint chips to one half and chopped cranberries to the other… and made smaller balls. They do burn easily! But the ones I saved… oh yeah
Love these!! I made them with the golden Oreos and white Chocolate chips sooooo yummy!!! Thanks for sharing!!
I attempted to make these cookies tonight and was having trouble. The seem really thin and greasy. I followed the ingredients but I am not sure what else I can do to try to make them work out. Are they supposed to be a pretty thin cookie? The batter tastes delicious at least :)
They’re not supposed to be terribly thin but if they’re spreading out a lot, your butter might be too warm. I’m glad the batter tasted good, who can beat Oreo and cheesecake? :)
Very disappointed. They were dry and burnt quickly. I took them out early and they still were burnt. I lowered the temp…even then. I followe the recipe exactly.
superstore has these clone (oreo) cookies and has come out with a peppermint one for the holidays. Could I use these instead of regular oreos? Going to try it ..
Yeah, go for it!
I tried my hand at this tonight, I have a friend who I am bribing with cookies for a ride home. Anyway, I was rolling the dough and I am not going to lie, it was too sticky for me so I added enough flour folded into the dough so it wouldn’t stick to my hands, about 1 cup.
Then I put it on the parchment paper and put the cookies on them to bake. I actually set my oven to 350 because it tends to run a little hot. About 5 mins later the oven had smoke billowing out of it, which is bad news because we live in an apartment building and if we set off our smoke detector the whole building has to evacuate.
So we quickly fanned the smoke out of our apartment. Then I decide to try again, the whole time I am totally blaming the parchment paper (I buy cheap so I was blaming the brand). So this time I just sprayed and put the cookies in to bake. And then about 5 mins in again the cookies were smoking again.
What did I do wrong? Has anyone else had this problem or am I not meant to make oreo cheesecake cookies?
Hi Amy, sorry that happened to you. The only thing I can think of is are you sure it was parchment paper and not wax paper? I only know of wax paper causing the oven to billow smoke. I don’t believe you did anything wrong in your steps with adding extra flour. The only conclusion I can come to is the parchment paper being wax paper.
sry there it is…I see it
I am about to make these…look so good and simple, but am guessing that you mean for there to be a cup of flour…it says to flour in inst’s, but isn’t listed on ings list. Just checking
This is a really neat idea. I decided to make them this evening and I was so very disappointed. They didn’t turn out like cookies. More like flatbreads. The consistency reminded me of candy or taffy. I followed your directions to the T so I don’t know what happen.
