For as long as I remember, I have always been a sleep talker. I don’t do it often, but when I do, it’s kind of funny. Typically, I won’t really remember when I do it but sometimes, I’ll wake myself up from the talking or the yelling/screaming. Yes, I’ve been known to yell/scream in my sleep. It’s funny (to me) but can be really scary for others. My mom said she’d used to hear me from all the way in their bedroom yelling, “nine feet! Nine feet!” haha – maybe I was playing football? Or, let’s talk about the first time Rachel and I ever roomed together. Of course that’d be another time I talked in my sleep. Haha, so embarrassing! She was a good sport about it though and tried to keep a conversation going ;)

This past Saturday night, I had a really freaky dream. I dreamt that we were on a plane and we crash landed in the middle of NYC. I always dream of plane crashes – which is partly why I’m terrified of flying. The dreams just feel so real. Anyway, so in my dream on Saturday, the plane took off but then just lost air or something and we started falling and then we skidded to a stop. No one was hurt and the plane was still intact and we all were hurrying off the plane. Apparently the people we were with wanted to stick around for medical assistance but instead, I yelled “NOOOOO!” and made us run because I was afraid the plane would blow up from the fire. Yeah, so I actually yelled “NOOOOO!” outloud and woke Jason up. He said it was like a blood-curdling “no.” Haha, I remember myself waking up but I went right back to sleep and the dream started again. It was really weird.
Do you have any quirky sleeping habits?
Summer is winding down. We got a bunch of coho salmon and we just had to throw it on the grill with some slammin’ salmon rub before the summer went away. The rub consisted of sugar, chili powder, salt, paprika, black pepper, cumin, chipotle powder, dutch cocoa powder, mustard, and cinnamon. Seriously, it elevates this coho to a whole ‘nother level. I think the char from the grill brought out the flavors of the salmon and rub even more, too. Grilling salmon keeps your salmon moist, delicious, and gives a killer crust on the outside. We served our salmon with a side of sweet corn (slathered in butter, of course!) and a leafy green salad. We were absolutely stuffed and had happy bellies full of coho salmon :)
It’s super simple to put together a grilled salmon dish together like this one! Just grab some of your favorite seafood/fish rub, turn on the grill, and you’ve got yourself an easy weeknight meal!
Grilled Coho Salmon
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons any seafood/fish/salmon rub
- 24 ounce (680 g) fresh coho salmon, (cleaned, pin-bones removed)
Instructions
- Preheat grill on high heat.
- Sprinkle seafood rub all over the pink flesh side of the salmon and gently massage it into the skin.2 tablespoons any seafood/fish/salmon rub, 24 ounce (680 g) fresh coho salmon
- Place the two pieces of salmon, seasoned side down, onto the grill and let it cook for 5 minutes without moving it.
- Using a large grilling spatula, flip the salmon after 5 minutes then cook for another 3-5 minutes until salmon is cooked through, but not overcooked and tough. Keep an eye on it and make sure it’s not getting overcooked.
- Serve salmon with a side salad and favorite vegetable, if desired.
Looks so fresh and amazing!
Apparently I started this talking in my sleep habit during wedding planning and now it happens whenever I’m stressed. The husband gets really confused because he says I sit up and have what seems like real conversations except that if he answers he realizes I’m not talking to him. And usually I’m giving out baking instructions. Lol.
Hahaha, that’s awesome. Baking instructions!
