I held off on pumpkin until the start of fall, but I’m not sure I’ll make it until October :) I’ve been wanting to make my own pumpkin pie spice forever, but I need to finish the little jars in my cabinet first, and it takes so long to get through them!
This is EXACTLY what my life needed: more pumpkin pie spice! :)
Truthfully I’ve never made or bought pumpkin or apple pie spice since. I didn’t realize there was a thing until this year when I keep seeing recipes calling for it. Fun quick recipe and I’m with you… hold off on pumpkin till October pretty please or it gets seriously old in a hurry.
Love this! what a great idea! have you ever thought of including Chinese Five Spice?
I don’t use Chinese Five Spice a ton to make a huge batch of it. I find that the size I buy at the Asian marts last me forever!
What a great idea! And I agree with your logic on no Thanksgiving before November, Christmas before December, etc.
Julie – sometimes I wonder if the standard pumpkin pie spice jar could actually get ANY smaller?!?! It’s frustrating and I use it in everythign this time of year – from sprinkling on top of peanut butter sandwiches to pumpkin muffins and cookies. GREAT way to save money here. Love it Julie!
Yum!!! I’ve already been using this the past few weeks. Love pumpkin pie season!!!
Oh, I love this idea! I use pumpkin pie spice in so many things!!
So funny! I just posted a link to my homemade pumpkin pie spice on my FB. Great minds think alike!
And we have the same measuring spoons!
I just love the smell of pumpkin spice, it makes me fall in love with this time of year all over again! :-)
